About Me

Have arrived into the hobby fairly late in life.Found that it combines my creative and practical instincts.I need to work with my hands as an antidote to deskwork (I'm an accountant) .

I enjoy virtually all aspects of the hobby from detailed modelling to landscaping..Have a lot to learn but am currently modelling two layouts:"PARKMORE" which is a 6ft x 2ft  009 layout, of the  highest station in N.Ireland at the passenger termination of the Ballymena to Cushendall narrow gauge line, circa 1900.Locos are  Manx Beyer Peacocks et al.The line closed in 1930 but retains much of its original trackbed and  infrastructure, and which I have walked when visiting my wifes family in the Glens of Antrim.

The other  is a 14ftx14ft DCC fictional GWR meets SR heart shaped  loft layout,"WOOLMINSTER" with a terminus and four  lines plus street scene  including trams, which I love.Have successfully modelled Townstreets' rural station and s/box  which is ready for installation.(I'm nervous about plaster and wouldn't use it for exhibition /portable projects).Otherwise its kit bashed Metcalfe and Superquick.

Photos to follow.
